what 10 users of Google Workspace actually cost in 2026
Business Starter $7/user/mo (annual) · Business Standard $14 · Business Plus $22 · Flexible month-to-month +20%: $8.40 / $16.80 / $26.40
Google Workspace quietly stopped being a $6-per-seat tool: a 2023 restructure raised monthly billing about 20%, then the January 2025 Gemini bundling raised every Business edition again - Starter $6 to $7, Standard $12 to $14, Plus $18 to $22 - effective for existing customers from March 2025. At 2026 prices it sits dead even with Microsoft 365 ($7/$14, with Microsoft's Standard including desktop Office apps) and roughly 2x-7x the budget alternatives (Zoho Workplace $3, Fastmail $3). The decade-long argument that Google is the cheaper suite is gone; the biggest lever a customer still controls is annual versus monthly billing.
price it for your team
Every figure below is Google Workspace's own published price, checked 8 Oct 2026, multiplied out for the count you enter. It is arithmetic on a list price, not a quote.
| users | at list, per year | typically recoverable | cheapest alternative |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | $420/yr | $84/yr | $180/yr · Zoho Workplace Standard |
| 10 | $840/yr | $168/yr | $360/yr · Zoho Workplace Standard |
| 25 | $2,100/yr | $420/yr | $900/yr · Zoho Workplace Standard |
| 50 | $4,200/yr | $840/yr | $1,800/yr · Zoho Workplace Standard |
"Typically recoverable" is our own starting expectation for the share of a Google Workspace line that comes back without changing provider — unused seats, the wrong tier, on-demand billing where annual was available. It is set from Google Workspace's published discount programs and the ordinary waste at this company size, not from customer audits, and it is not a promise about your invoice.
what companies your size actually pay
We have not read a Google Workspace invoice from a customer yet. We publish a range once we have read five. Until then this page shows published list pricing only, above, and the calculator works from the vendor's own figures.
the levers that work
- billing is the biggest published lever: Flexible (month-to-month) costs exactly 20% more than annual in every tier - $8.40 vs $7.00 (Starter), $16.80 vs $14.00 (Standard), $26.40 vs $22.00 (Plus). A 20-person Standard org pays $672/year for that flexibility. The trade: on Annual/Fixed-Term you can add seats mid-term but only drop seats at renewal, and cancelling early is billed for the remaining contract (source: Google's 'Compare Flexible and Annual' help page, read 8 Oct 2026)
- a new-customer promo is live on the official signup page (verified 8 Oct 2026): 50% off Starter and Standard, 30% off Plus - $3.50 / $7.00 / $15.40 - for the first 20 users. The page's own footnote says the introductory price runs 12 months, while the price-details widget shows a 3-month window (Oct 2026 - Jan 2027); Google shows both. Either way it reverts to standard pricing afterwards and is new signups only - re-check at signup time, this promo rotates
- Gemini has been bundled into every Business edition since January 2025, and the old $20/user/month Gemini Business add-on is discontinued as a purchasable SKU - if that line still sits in your budget, it is paying for a product Google no longer sells
- there is no legacy price to claim: the 2023 and 2025 increases rolled out to existing accounts with no grandfather carve-out (the 2023 deferral for accounts of 10 or fewer licenses ended January 2024), so $6/$12/$18 is gone. The only grandfathered deals that exist are reseller/negotiated contracts
Our own starting expectation is that roughly 20% of a small company's Google Workspace line comes back without changing provider — set from Google Workspace's published discount programs and the ordinary waste at this size, not from customer audits. Your invoices are what correct it.

A published price is not a quote. In a full audit we email the alternative as a disclosed agent for your company and get a real price for your exact usage — which is the number your incumbent actually responds to.

Drop last quarter's invoices. We name every line you are overpaying, with an annualized amount, free. The full audit is $299 once: it gets a real quote from the alternative for your exact usage and runs the renegotiation with your incumbent until there is an answer. If it does not identify at least $2,990/yr, we refund it in full.
